Missed Deep Vein Thrombosis Following Knee Operation

V underwent a bilateral knee replacement following which her left leg became swollen and painful.

Following our instruction expert evidence was commissioned which suggested that V had signs of developing DVT which were not recognised nor were they acted upon and by the time that it was diagnosed some 20 days after the initial surgery major DVT had become established as a result of which V suffered persistent pain and swelling of her leg which was likely to continue. 

Eventually, it was possible to secure a settlement for V for £50,000.00.
