Earlier this month, it was revealed that a woman from Sheffield accused of running a child sex ring, from the age of 16, has been jailed for 12 years.
According to reports, the court heard during the trial which last over two months, that the individual originally befriended “weak and vulnerable” girls, before luring them into prostitution and forcing them to have sex for money.
Following the hearing, the individual who denied all charges she was facing was cleared of several charges relating to arranging or facilitating child prostitution; trafficking within the UK for sexual exploitation; and intentionally causing or inciting a person to become a prostitute.
However, despite being cleared of the above charges, the individual was found guilty of 16 other charges relating to child prostitution and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
