Company Drivers Receive More Motoring Fines

  • Posted

According to figures published earlier this week, company car and van drivers accumulated in excess of £8 million in driving fines during 2013; an increase of 15 percent on 2012’s figures.

The figures, which are based on a fleet of over 270,000 company vehicles, highlighted that although the value of fines issued to company drivers saw a significant increase last year; the number of offences only experienced a slight increase.

However, of those offences company drivers were found guilty of breaching, driving within a bus lane – which carries higher financial penalties – saw a significant increase, of 25 percent, compared to the year before.

In addition, the latest statistics have revealed that offences relating to box junctions saw a decrease of 17 percent; whilst the number of company drivers caught speeding, driving dangerously or using a mobile phone increased slightly, by two percent.

As motoring offence solicitors in Yorkshire, we understand that as a company driver, losing your driving licence can have devastating and costly consequences for your business, personal and family life.

This is why our road traffic solicitors are on hand to provide specialist advice and representation, with the aim of defending and preserving your licence wherever possible or, if the matter is more serious, your liberty.

Based on our experience, our solicitors in Yorkshire are able to assist those facing motoring offences from the earliest stages of a road traffic law case right through to criminal proceedings, advice on pleas, court procedures and sentencing options.
