Unmarked Bike Used to Tackle Speeding

  • Posted

Earlier this month, it was announced that an unmarked motorcycle is to be used by police within Humberside, in an attempt to catch speeding bikers.

As part of Operation Achilles, Humberside Police are to use the unmarked bike to film bikers who are breaking the speed limit and / or riding irresponsibly; with the aim of reducing the number of bikers killed or injured on the regions roads.

Last year a similar operation saw roughly 200 bikers prosecuted over an eight month period; with over 40 being prosecuted for driving at speeds in excess of 85 mph.

For those road users who have been caught speeding, whether by an unmarked police vehicle, static speed camera or mobile speed camera; and have subsequently received a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP), our road traffic solicitors in Yorkshire will be able to assist.

Whether you believe you should not have been awarded points on your licence or if you are facing disqualification and believe this would cause you exceptional hardship, our solicitors will be able to offer legal representation – and to find out if we can assist you, contact us today.
