Case Study 4
Following a successful clinical negligence claim, Julia Morrill was appointed as Professional Deputy on behalf of a child who suffered from significant brain injury and hearing loss. The child was a member of a dysfunctional family. Julia had to assist in the relocation from one area of the country to another, where there was no support network. This was to enable the child and her mother to effectively distance themselves from other family members.
We had to manage the budget carefully, bearing in mind that there was a 55% recovery in the civil claim, to ensure that priorities were met. This included the successful transfer from a mainstream school to a special needs school and managing additional therapies.
A full 24/7 package was put in place together with adapted accommodation.
