Mastectomy Complications

J was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer.  She had to undergo a mastectomy and although the surgery went well she was administered a high dose of clexane as a result of which J started to bleed heavily and required a transfusion.

She had a very stormy time in hospital as a result and suffered flashbacks and anxiety. 

Although liability was accepted by the hospital at an early stage the amount of damages to be recovered was difficult as J was already suffering from the after affects of the breast cancer and mastectomy but nevertheless eventually it was possible to resolve her claim with her accepting an award of £40,000.00.
